**About the Role**

As an Assistant House Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, stable, and therapeutic home environment for young people who have experienced significant trauma. You’ll support the daily operations of the house and work closely with an experienced team including the House Supervisor, Case Worker, Therapeutic Specialist, and others to ensure the highest standard of care.

You’ll be part of a trauma-informed, client-focused environment that prioritises safety, respect, healing, and opportunity - using the Sanctuary model to guide practice.

**_ There are multiple Permanent Full Time opportunities based in Canberra within our Residential Care Program. The position reports to the House Supervisor._**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the House Supervisor in managing daily house operations and upholding safety standards
- Supervise youth workers and foster a cohesive, therapeutic care team
- Implement trauma-informed strategies to support emotional and behavioural development
- Ensure child safety and compliance with statutory requirements
- Create an environment that celebrates cultural diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
- Manage household finances and material needs
- Lead by example to create a nurturing, home-like environment

**What You’ll Bring**
- A Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field (or willingness to obtain for Aboriginal applicants)
- Significant experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation
- Strong leadership, supervision, and team development skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage and support young people with complex needs
- Excellent conflict resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A sound understanding of WHS principles and child protection requirements
- Commitment to cultural safety and inclusive practices
- Availability to work a variety of shifts including afternoons and weekends.
