
Bushland Management Officer

**About the Role**
This position in Council’s Vegetations Works Team is responsible for the management of a diverse asset base, including community land. Performing works involved in a variety of tasks associated with bushland maintenance, community nursery activities and fire mitigation works within publicly owned bushland areas, such as project management of infrastructure provision or improvement, the protection and enhancement of natural assets.
**What you will be doing**:
- Design and deliver individual natural area management programs.
- Assist with the delivery of Councils Bushfire Management Program for Council bushland reserves.
- Coordinate and supervise bushland contractors and consultants.
- Actively seek funding opportunities such as grants for natural area management projects.
- Provide assistance in the preparation and review of bushland management strategies.
- Liaise with Bushland Maintenance Coordinator in the development and review of plans of management for bushland assets.
- Prepare and maintain relevant data and information of Council’s GIS and other information systems.
- Liaise with state bodies to develop/install threat & threatened species recovery programs/strategies.
- Inspect and/or report workplace hazards and hazards which may affect the general public and where appropriate take action to eliminate such hazards.
- Where required, collect performance data which relates to daily
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary degree or diploma qualification in environmental science, management, planning or related field or 3 years experience in a similar role.
- Certificate III or IV in natural area management, park management or equivalent desirable
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Chemical Safety Accreditation AQF3 or AQF4
- NSW Drivers Licence (Class C)
- White Card - General Construction Induction Licence
- Working with Children Check
**Position details**:
Permanent full-time role on a nine-day fortnight, W0193 Salary: Up to $90K + Superannuation + Council To and From Vehicle
