Our client is a fully Australian-owned family business who are passionate about their people.

They're invested in finding, growing, and retaining talented and enthusiastic people. They're based in Brisbane, and specialise in mould, e-coli, and environmental health.

They are seeking a seeking a General Manager to oversee our tight-knit team and provide strong direction for our fast-growing business. This is a senior management position, reporting to the Group CEO.

You will be responsible for overseeing the running of their laboratory and consulting services, project management, business development, staff management and strategic planning.

You must be able to work in their Murarrie office and sometimes farther afield (overnight to week-long trips across Australia).

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Project management - managing the operation department, overseeing works, resource management
- Systems and procedures management - develop policies procedures, oversee NATA accreditation and system improvement
- Staff management - manage and support direct reports, intentional communication across all reporting lines and teams
- Business development - build and maintain client relationships, proactively solicit new business
- Financial management - oversee billing, financial reporting and financial planning
- Leadership and development - lead the business, champion the culture and strategic objectives

**Qualifications & experience**
- Laboratory management, occupation hygiene or similar experience required
- Experience with NATA/ISO and QMS/QA/QC required
- Experience with project management highly advantageous
- Experience in the IAQ/mould industry (or at least an interest in it)
- Self-motivated and be able to work efficiently without direct supervision to complete your duties
- Have a current Australian Driver's Licence and the Right to Work in Australia
