We are currently looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to take ownership and control over daily operations, and to work with our customers based in Nowra, NSW 2541.The role will be based at our Nowra Depot from Monday to Friday 7.30am-5pm (Day Shift Hours), with the need to be available on call after hours as an escalation point.The following tasks are the responsibility of the Transport Operations Manager Daily allocation and rostering of drivers to loads.
Communicating the daily roster to each driver. Proactively communicating to customers when unloading, loading and delays occur.
Daily reporting to customers of service levels.
Managing customer relationships and being their key point of contact for the business.
Managing a core group of drivers, and ensuring they are meeting the businesses standards and are operating safely.
Managing the performance of each driver including taking action with drivers to improve their individual performance or escalating driver performance to higher management.
Recording of all freight bookings in the Transport Management System.
Coordinating with the fleet manager to ensure vehicles are maintained and arranging repairs should emergency breakdowns occur.
Closing out any non-conformances raised with the involvement of the Safety and Compliance Manager as necessary.
Willingness to drive change in the business.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.

Skills / Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in a Transport operations role with people management
Experience with interstate transport & knowledge of all Fatigue Management and Heavy Vehicles Laws
Experience with the use of Transport Management Software.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office; particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong knowledge of the road networks throught australia.
Ability to build strong customer relationships and offer a high level of customer service.
Attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

**Salary**: $71,302.08 - $156,247.37 per year
