Our client is Sydney's premier sourdough bakers and due to continual growth, they are seeking a talented Quality Assurance Officer to join their growing team based in the southern suburbs of Sydney.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day support of site products to ensure compliance to quality/food safety standards and customer expectations are met.

Responsibilities of the role:

- Assist in developing processes, specifications, and critical control points
- Track, analyse and lead root cause analysis for all supplier, quality, and customer complaint issues
- Daily monitoring of operational procedures
- Facilitate continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
- Maintain and initiate all recordkeeping and KPIs
- Facilitate activities with regards to packaging, labelling, and product traceability
- Ensure team understands safe work practices and conducts work procedures safely
- Maintain a high level of food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with WQA, GMP and HACCP
- Conduct internal audits and reviews

Knowledge / Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

- Tertiary qualification in food science or relevant industry experience/qualification
- Knowledge of HACCP, Quality/Risk Management
- Capability to develop quality procedures
- Attention to detail and accuracy, be well organised and able to work autonomously and within a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills and ability to analyse and present data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information
- Be trustworthy, have integrity and professionalism at all times
- High initiative, enthusiasm, and adaptability
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
