Set in the hinterland of Byron Bay, **Byron Private Holistic Treatment Centre** is an integrative holistic residential treatment facility providing specialised therapeutic support for individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol addiction, trauma, eating disorders and relationship issues.

Bringing together a diverse range of highly qualified practitioners from both Western and Eastern philosophies provides clients with a program that addresses all aspects of care. Our experienced multidisciplinary team is comprised of psychiatrists, doctors, psychologists, therapists, and alternative health care workers. They are trained in a variety of modalities such as naturopathy, bodywork, massage, yoga, and creative therapies.

We are currently looking for a full-time Residential Care Officer (RCO).

**About the Role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Working closely with the Client Liaison and Intake Officer (CLO), as a point of contact for potential clients, referrers, and stakeholders
- Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties
- Complete preadmission assessments according to urgency and individual needs
- Assessing clients’ needs and planning, developing and implementing support programs
- Work closely with the CLO to ensure the management of the client waiting list and service availability requirements
- Maintain relationships with key referrers and other interested parties
- Ensure quality of care in relation to intake, pre-admissions, admissions, and client coordination including aftercare
- Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the continuity, and consistency of client care
- Supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions
- Co-facilitate groups and provide direct support to the clinical team as required
- Assist and participate in auditing and clinical governance tasks as required
- Demonstrate strong commitment to self and professional development by actively participating in staff development workshops and training programs

**Duties and tasks**:
Intake & Assessment
- Schedule and complete preadmission assessments (PAA) for potential residents
- Review assessments with the Clinical Care Coordinator (CCC) for input and send to the clinical team for final approval
- Co-ordinate further clinical assessment of potential residents, prior to approval, for complex cases
- Ensure relevant collateral is received and communicated to staff members prior to approval and/or arrival as indicated
- Ensure effective and timely response to communication with residents, their families or the treating team as appropriate and directed by the clinical lead
- Communicate the outcome of the assessment with residents and relevant interested parties and provide timely and appropriate referrals to other organisations and providers where required
- Provide support to the CLO in coordination of resident arrival, sending prior to arrival information, financial documentation, arrival times and transport and ensuring adequate staffing is allocated where required
- Build and maintain relationships with key referrers and other interested parties

Client Care & Clinical Support
- Aftercare: Facilitate weekly aftercare group, oversee client Aftercare Plan: including daily plan, f/up appointments, on-going therapy, meetings & support groups, living situation, medical and psych appts post-treatment if required
- Client Exit Planning; liaise with the clinical team regarding exit dates, airport or other transfers and liaise with CLO to schedule
- Facilitate client morning meetings, and psycho-educational groups as required
- Prepare relevant clinical governance audit reports for the clinical team and other accreditation and certification tasks as required
- Actively participate in reflective practice through team meetings, supervision and staff development activities
- Co-ordinate clients’ Family Program, liaising with families and loved ones regarding dates and confirming attendance, reporting to the Clinical Lead and communicating details to the Program Manager
- Identify and communicate potential client treatment extensions to CL for approval. Liaise with Client Liaison Officer and Program Manager, regarding bed availability and financials
- Complete next of kin (NOK) within 48 hours of admission and discharge and update CRM
- Complete Client follow up calls, within 48hrs of dis
