**The Role**
The Administration officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within Defence Science and Technology Group. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
They will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to OCDS matters. They will interpret and provide advice within the administration function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results.
The APS5 Administration Officer may coordinate and contribute to the work of the Executive Support team and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. The APS5 Administration Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve DSTG and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
**About our Team**
The Office of the Chief Defence Scientist includes two teams.
The Executive Support team includes the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Executive Officer, Administration Officer, and Executive Assistant.
The Coordination and Ministerial Liaison Team includes a Director, Deputy Director, and two Ministerial Liaison Officers.
These two teams work in lock step to support the Chief Defence Scientist and, by extension, Defence Science and Technology Group in delivering innovation, science and technology for Defence.
