Logan City, Australia Mercy Community Service Full time

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) helps people living with a broad range of physical, intellectual and psychosocial impairments in the form of funded packages. This means money they are able to use to pay for support and services they might need to go about daily life.

Utilising this funding can be tricky, especially for those that might face barriers in accessing, communicating and coordinating the services and support they need. This is where a Support Coordinator comes in A Support Coordinator works directly with people living with disability and their families, helping them maximise the funding that the NDIS has provided. They play a pivotal role around the person receiving NDIS funding ensuring that funds are used and allocated correctly, connecting and coordinating people to services, providing feedback between parties, and providing some reports to the NDIS. Success in this role is helping someone utilise their funding in a way that they are able to meet all their goals and aspirations personally and as outlined in their NDIS plan.
