- MDJV, a joint venture between Diona and McConnell Dowell, is a delivery partner as part of SA Water’s Water North Framework, a capital works program covering a diverse portfolio including dam upgrades, earth bank storage facility construction and remediation, water tank construction and refurbishment, network enhancements and water treatment process improvements. Spanning a large geographical footprint across metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia, this program aims to improve water services for South Australian communities. As part of the JV, Mcconnell Dowell seeks a **Construction Manager **to drive performance delivery of the joint ventures' objectives.

**About the role**:

- Promote total job safety and environmental awareness by employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity and stress to all employees and subcontractors the importance top management attaches to safety and the environment.
- Ensure that safe, environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented, and that sufficient plant and equipment is made available, properly operated and maintained, to facilitate proper access and enable any operation to be carried out safely.
- Organise and coordinate construction activities in accordance with construction schedules so as to complete the works on time whilst constantly monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental and quality activities.
- Continual interaction and on-site contact with subordinate staff and, where necessary, weekly employees, to ensure efficient and productive field activities.
- Ensure all activities relating to quality are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract.
- Select subcontractors and suppliers based on an evaluation of their ability to meet the specified requirements including those for safety, quality and environmental and ensure compliance with same.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

- Prior Tier 1 experience in a Construction Manager role within water infrastructure and civil projects
- Demonstrated experience combined with relative industry qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in delivering large complex projects
- A strong demonstrated history of managing others including performance managing and relative union communication
- Experience in planning controls processes such as base-lining, version control, importance of traceability of changes, using multiple calendars and working times
- Exposure to Linear planning and associated communication tools such as time chainage software
