As the Safety Manager you will be located at our Ballarat Potato Plant providing expert support and advice as a senior SME to the site on all matters relating to occupational health and safety. The role leads and builds the capability of site managers, supervisors and team leaders, so that the McCain ANZ regional strategy and management system are implemented and embedded in the Potato manufacturing plant. The role is also responsible for determining key safety risk areas specific to the site in addition to regional strategy, and for developing safety improvement plans for the site relating to site-specific key risks.

**About the Role**
- Responsible for ensuring implementation of the Regional ANZ strategic initiatives
- Responsible for building the safety culture on site as a valued member of the Plant Leadership Team
- Performs safety audit function to ensure risk controls are present and effective
- Driving change through engagement, empowerment and changing behaviours at all levels
- Ensure safety compliance requirements are known by Plant and Functional management to enable appropriate prioritisation of safety risk management

**About You**
- 5+ year’s safety experience in a manufacturing, supply chain or other heavy industry environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Safety Management Systems, structures and processes
- Ability to lead and influence people at all levels of the organization
- Good problem solving skills
