**Your new role**
The Technical Systems Manager will work on an exciting new project called The Radio Replacement Program.
The Radio Replacement Program will replace the current Tait radio with new equipment that has enhanced features and functionality, including LTE technology, for use on the Victorian Radio Network (VRN) which includes the RMR & MMR P25 networks.
In this role you will;
- Lead the Engineering & Technical activities within the Radio Replacement Program which is procuring & deploying new radio terminals across the state.
- Work with key stakeholders to enable the deployment of operational radios and equipment. The Manager Technical Systems will bring superior technical knowledge and expertise in radio communications to the Radio Replacement Program.
- Provide professional leadership and oversight in the provision of authoritative advice on, and delivery of, the evaluation and subsequent programming of new radios and equipment
- Engage with decision makers and other key business stakeholders, technology resources, and vendor resources in order to provide authoritative advice on Technical Requirements Specifications, Radio configuration requirements, Test Plans and technical training documents.
- Provide superior technical knowledge and expertise in radio communications, including the P25 network, to the Radio Replacement Project
- Perform and coordinate all radio terminal configuration test elements, in accordance with the departments Operational Radio Quality Management requirements
**What you'll need to succeed**
- A deep understanding and, working knowledge of the VRN(MMR & RMR) and P25 network.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of personnel
- Ability to prepare and present exceptional, professional, concise and insightful technical reporting and briefing materials for senior management
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to manage complex issues and projects to develop innovative solutions and provide authoritative advice on complex problems
