**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The Workforce Australia for Business Division operates national and local workforce programs and provides strategic policy advice to address workforce challenges ranging from the energy transition to net zero including Local Jobs initiatives, Employment Facilitators and Harvest Trail Services.
We want people who are keen to understand changing economic conditions and contribute to positive workplace change that will help prepare the Australian workforce for the future.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS6 Program Officer may include:
- Liaising with other sections, external agencies and external stakeholders and facilitate cross-agency or multi-agency planning of program delivery.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant program activities and/or project milestones.
- Developing and managing project plans, including evaluation reporting.
- Managing contract and service agreements and ensure compliance.
- Co-ordinating contract management including developing tender documentation, managing selection processes and addressing contractor performance issues.
- Providing advice and technical expertise in specific areas of project or program activities.
- Coordinating risk assessment and risk management activities for a project or program.
- Managing financial reporting and analysis activities.
- Develop, implement and monitoring budget controls and strategies.
- Implementing programs administered by the agency.
- Managing and deliver projects.
- Managing program/project through to implementation under guidance of higher classification level.
- Develop, deliver, coordinate, plan and assess training programs.
- Preparing briefs.
