**Position Overview**
We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Designer to join our Digital Experience team on a 3-month contract basis. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design intuitive and engaging user interfaces for our digital products. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our digital services and make a meaningful impact on the experiences of millions of Australians.
**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, developers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, user needs, and business objectives.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and interactions effectively.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs, maintaining design consistency and quality throughout the development process.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, data analysis, and stakeholder input to continuously improve product usability and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product design.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, UX/UI, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and outcomes.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment, communicate design ideas clearly, and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to inform design decisions.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
**Preferred Skills & Experience**
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.
- Experience designing for e-commerce, logistics, or similar industries is a plus.
- Understanding of mobile-first and responsive design principles.
