**About being a Part Time Tram Driver**

We are looking for people who are passionate about providing a service. Being a Tram Driver will provide you with exceptional job security with a highly competitive salary and generous benefits. Many of our team leaders and depot managers started their careers at Yarra Trams as drivers.

Our Part Time Tram Driving Roster includes a minimum of 23 hours rostered per week across 5 days, each shift is 4.5 hours long. Your shifts would only be rostered between the hours of 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM so there are no late finishes as part of this roster.

**What **makes a good Tram Driver?**

If you are passionate about providing a service and love your city you are already on the right track Of course a commitment to safety and focus on zero harm is crucially important, this includes a proven record of safe driving on the road. You will be able to multi-task whilst maintaining concentration over a period of time. It's important you have a commitment to provide exceptional customer service, thinking of our passengers as part of your family. Lastly you will have a positive outlook and an ability to cope with pressure and be resilient.

**What do you need to become a Part Time Tram Driver?**

To be a Tram Driver you need to be prepared to be part of a workplace that is based on respect, promotes diversity and encourages inclusiveness. It's important that you are medically fit to perform the functions of a Tram Driver. This includes basic mobility, hearing, and other health checks. You will be provided with the support required to complete a comprehensive **full time** 6-10 week training program and a 6 month probation period. You will be paid during this training period and much of the training is ‘on-the-job’ driving trams on the network with an instructor.
