- Participants of this six (6) month program will develop an increased understanding and awareness of the assessment and management principles required to safely provide care for a patient pre
- and post-operatively including pain management, invasive devices and wound/stoma management.
- The Acute Surgical RISE Program Speciality areas are:

- ** Colorectal/ Hepatobiliary (3SW)**:

- Ward 3 south west is a 20 bed ward comprising of Hepatobiliary (HB), Colorectal (CR) and Abdominal trauma patients, sometimes taking Trauma overflow from the seventh floor which includes Orthopaedics and Plastics trauma in addition to ICU step down patients. Our ward is a busy surgical unit with high acuity patients whose average length of stay is between 5 to 10 days.
- ** Urology, BOE & Vascular Surgery (9W)** - 9 West is a 24 bed acute surgical ward providing care for both elective and emergency Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology and Endocrinology (BOE) patients. Looking out on the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s helipad, our clinical team is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver high quality patient centred care. We are a fast paced and vibrant ward, priding ourselves on our team approach and camaraderie.
