**What’s your role?**

The HI Data team works in collaboration with the Bupa Data Governance team that covers governance across the enterprise. Policies, Standards and Data Quality Assurance programs are set by the Data Governance team, but ensuring they are implemented effectively in HI is the role of the HI Data team and this role.The role requires a collaborative, value driven individual that deeply understands the complex technical environments and toolsets available required to achieve outcomes with data. Supporting the Information Asset Owners and Data Stewards, you will navigate working in complex, ambiguous, and challenging situations while acting as the liaison across senior leadership to ensure that we have effective governance across Health Insurance.

**What will your day look like?**
- Develop and manage strategic initiatives involving the management and implementation of HI Data policies standards, tools, and processes that support the management of data risks
- Execute the responsibilities as the Risk Coordinator for HI Data
- Support the creation, maintenance and execution of the HI Data Quality Standards and Management Plans
- Support the timely resolution of data quality issues across HI
- Develop and implement Governance KPI’s with the aim to improve data quality, accuracy, and literacy throughout the Health Insurance Business Unit.
- Support the Bupa Data Governance team to implement an effective the Data Governance Quality Assurance Program
- Take accountability for conducting data quality assessments for all HI data assets.
- Audit the HI Data Team’s Risk and Governance Controls, and provide recommendations to uplift data processes and mature Bupa’s data practices
- Manage HI information assets, ensuring they are accurately stored and maintained within Bupa’s systems
- Provide guidance, advice, and support on data governance matter and conduct data Quality Training and Awareness Activities where appropriate, especially to HI Information Asset owners
- Protect the data of Bupa’s customers, employees, and brand by ensuring appropriate risks and controls are fit for purpose
- Make recommendations and provide feedback to develop and refine standards and controls to continually improve our data-confident posture.
- Provide expertise in several of the following data management capabilities namely: data classification, data privacy, metadata management, reference data management, master data management, data quality, data risk management, data security, data masking, data encryption, records management, retention and disposal, legislation and regulation and data ethics

**What will you bring?**
- 5 to 10 years of experience working as a Data Governance Manager / Lead in a complex organisation
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar discipline
- Experience in financial services or regulated business environments
- Proven experience in building strong relationships with senior stakeholders utilising your influencing skills to implement risk and governance controls into multiple teams
- Experience in compliance activities relating to data related legislation and regulations - Privacy Act 1988, APRA CPS 234 and APRA CPG 235
- Expertise in technical stack (SQL, SAS, Power BI, ADB)
- Experience conducting training sessions and Governance Workshops
- Experience in agile delivery projects / programs, and use of ADO boards
- Experience working with data / information systems and tools
- Experience working in a variety of information management roles
- Knowledge of Azure data platform and Databricks technologies
- Architectural or design experience
- Strategy experience
