**About the opportunity**

This is a great opportunity to join Bupa as a 12-month Contingent worker. You will be paid a competitive daily rate and will be provided with flexible working / work from home arrangements. The preferred location for this role is Melbourne.

Bupa has a strategic goal of being the most customer-centric digital healthcare organisation, with the use of data as an explicit pillar of this strategy. The Bupa Data Program (BDP) has been established to deliver on this strategy for ANZ. This role is responsible for ensuring the use of data is compliant with relevant legislation and mandates; is used in ways that align with socially acceptable norms; and creates clear and transparent lines of accountability for facets of data and analytic lifecycles. This will assist in the delivery of BDP objectives by delivering, coaching and managing key Data Governance tasks in order to drive safe and compliant handling of high quality data assets that drive business value.

**How can you help?**

The key focus for this role will be driving and supporting integration of various data sources with the BDP Sherlock platform. As part of this, the role will be responsible for:

- Driving proactive engagement with organisational compliance functions and adhere to processes to ensure project delivery timelines are met
- Ensuring appropriate handling of confidential data and establish remediation plans to mitigate associated data risk
- Driving the delivery of effective data lifecycle management per the Bupa Information Lifecycle Policy
- Identifying opportunities for pragmatic governance practices in an agile environment
- Undertake, and coach others in, data profiling activities for target data sources
- Assessment and uplift of data quality artefacts (e.g. data dictionaries, metrics catalogues, data quality validation rules) for end user consumption
- Assist business analysts & data engineers in source system integration design work by ensuring Data Governance considerations are effectively incorporated
- Supporting uplift of metadata and reference data management
- Support data quality uplift through effective engagement with enterprise quality processes and data stewards
- Accountable for deliverables of Data Governance requirements for BDP Data Integration
- Provide expertise for the specific purpose of ensuring accuracy in outputs, protecting Bupa’s brand and ensuring deployments are fit for purpose and create value for our customers
- Aligning with the enterprise data governance framework for data policies, under the direction of the Head of Data Governance
- Leading and embedding pragmatic governance practices in a rapidly changing environment
- Develop and refine standards and controls to continually improve Bupa’s data confident posture

**What do you need?**
- Extensive relevant experience in a Data Governance related field
- Experience in working on complex programs of work in a data analytics environment
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Desirable: Experience in an Agile Release Train environment
- Desirable: Experience in technical design documentation development or review
