This will be a hands-on and leadership role with dual responsibilities for developing and implementing the test strategy for the entire group in consultation with our stakeholders and practical testing within our highest priority information systems program.

In our new model, all staff are expected to be able to undertake testing activities and understand the fundamentals of security and privacy industry practices. The role will be required to mentor technical and non-technical people, including Business Analysts, Designers, Software & Data Engineers, Project Managers and Test Automation Engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand their roles as part of the test strategy.

Accountabilities
- The creation, implementation and execution of an overarching information systems test strategy that includes:

- Functional testing
- Non-Functional testing
- User acceptance testing,
- Performance testing
- Quality assurance
- Security testing (including social engineering and penetration).

This strategy will include the functional and non-functional testing of software systems, system components, configurations, packages, and their interfaces and be adaptable to both plan-based/waterfall and iterative/agile approaches and to both vendor and internal systems delivery.
- Collaborating across the team to identify the best fit testware for the strategy and ensure ongoing quality measures are in place throughout the entire lifecycle of a product, not just its initial delivery into production.
- Ensuring we are confident our products conform to agreed policy, security, and data protection legislation.
- Reviewing software requirements, preparing test scenarios and acceptance criteria, executing test cases, and analysing results for the Program, including hands on testing of delivered functionality as part of a sprint-based process.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Extensive experience in software testing & quality assurance, including experience testing products at all stages of their lifecycle (including appropriate health monitoring tests for operations)
- Demonstrated skills and experience developing test cases and acceptance criteria.
- Experience in the development of test strategies and frameworks for software development and implementation projects.
- Experience in mentoring technical and non-technical staff to understand their roles as part of a test strategy.
- Experience reporting and tracking bugs through software development management tools such as Jira.
- Stakeholder management experience including experience supporting diverse business stakeholders to successfully complete user acceptance testing.

**Desirable**
- Qualifications in testing and quality assurance.
- An understanding of automated testing tools such as Selenium, Loadrunner etc.
- Experience of security testing.
- Experience in test driven development (TDD).

Experience designing and implementing scalable operating test frameworks such as Sogheti TMap
