**Job Description**:
**Flexible location**: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

An exciting Senior Management opportunity for a **National HSE Manager** to make an impact in our high-profile Resources and Industrials division. Reporting into the Divisional General Manager for HSE, you will contribute at both a strategic and operational level and be responsible for the provision of professional leadership to shape, define and improve systems and standards across 6 sectors, each with their own risk profile. Our blue-chip customers span across the Minerals, Oil and Gas, Bulk Dangerous Goods, Chemicals and Industrials sectors.

This is an all-encompassing role for a skilled HSE Senior professional looking for their next step with a Global leader, where you will lead geographically dispersed teams and partner with Sector General Managers to develop and improve HSE competencies within the business. You will have broad support from both business and corporate HSE to drive the consolidation of multiple HSE Management Systems, whilst assisting the business to continually meet contractual requirements.

Showcase your prior strategic and operational HSE leadership skills across aligned industries and become an integral part of our Resources and Industrials framework.

**Your role responsibilities will include**:

- Oversee the ongoing maintenance and assurance of business accreditation to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Participate in HSE risk management initiatives and programs to control emerging HSE risks, including supporting the delivery and implementation of HSE Programs.
- Utilise HSE risk management methodologies and frameworks to drive safe business practices that eliminate / minimise critical risks.
- Lead and review Significant Safety Incident (SSI) investigations using the ICAM methodology ensuring that both corrective and preventative actions are identified, assigned, and monitored for timely completion.
- Research and prepare reports on HSE performance issues and improvement strategies to Business Unit Senior Leaders to drive insights and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain a Business Unit first line of defence HSE assurance program that supports second line of defence assurance activities including management reviews, audits, and inspections.

**Qualifications**:
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- 10 years practical experience in a HSE leadership role with a focus on resources, and transport and logistics (desirable)
- A high level of understanding/ experience of the business and issues/ restraints faced by line managers and business teams in implementing HSSEQ processes and programs.
- Experience in relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders. Excellent knowledge of HSE training best practice delivery and mapping against qualifications frameworks.

**Technical/Professional Skills required**
- Extensive knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement in the interpretation and analysis of HSE legislation and audit criteria.
- Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with fellow team members, senior management, stakeholders, and industry experts and write high quality reports for senior and executive management.
- Highly developed planning and project management skills.
- Experience in leading complex incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others including legislators, external auditors, accreditation bodies, industry experts.
- Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships to achieve goals within area of responsibility.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Health & Safety, Environment, Risk and / or other relevant discipline
- Chartered/ Certified HSE professional (desirable)
- Internal Auditor qualifications - IRCA, Exemplar Global or equivalent (desirable)
