**About the Role**

This role sits within Services Operations Branch within Enterprise Technology Division and the primary purpose of this role is to plan, build and manage the enterprise-wide database technology used across multiple platforms and environment mainly DB2, SQL and Oracle. You will collaborate with solution architects and development teams to design data management and data integration controls and ensure the database Services are aligned with company objectives and meet business outcomes in a timely manner. You will also be responsible to identify and resolve issues related to database systems to minimize service interruption.

We are seeking a highly skilled individual who possesses advanced problem-solving abilities, demonstrated leadership in research and analysis for technology practices, substantial experience managing MS SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2 databases, and a comprehensive understanding of managing infrastructure services across various delivery environments.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Lead operations, research and analysis activities in the areas of database, infrastructure and server administration, technical architecture and in overseeing the effectiveness of operational security.
- Negotiate with and influence key client and customer stakeholders and work closely with IT’s strategy development group in order ensure alignment of the technical architecture with DoT information communication and technology strategies.
- Exercise independent judgement to undertake impact analysis on design options while managing the risks to the IT environment, ensuring that the database, technical architecture and security design balances functional, service quality and systems requirements.
- Develop policies, procedures and systems that directly influence the way work is performed inside and outside the Service Operations Group.
- Develop initiatives to encourage and support interdepartmental communication.
- Manages the development and implementation of policy and strategy within legislative and regulatory compliance.
