**Position Information**:
Paterson Public School is a small rural NSW school with an enrolment of 112 students in five classes, 3% of students are Aboriginal and a FOEI of 83. We are situated in the Dungog Shire Council area and work closely with the Dungog and District Community of Schools. We have a very low staff turnover and the majority of our teachers are very experienced. Over the past three years, there has been a significant increase in the enrolment of students with disability and additional learning needs. Students consistently demonstrate respect, responsibility and resilience and are enthusiastic learners. Our community demonstrates high expectation for learning and wellbeing. Our equity funding is used to employ additional support staff to assist students in achieving in literacy and numeracy. Our students are passionate about sport and we participate in many sporting competitions, achieving a high level of success given our size. We have a strong environmental education program including a vegetable garden run by our Garden Club and a chicken run. We are an active member of the local community and our families are highly engaged in all aspects of school life with our P&C playing a key role in school decision making and running an outstanding school canteen three days each week. We have strong links with our local preschool and partner secondary schools.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach infants and primary with demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching practice, with an emphasis on promoting high expectations and differentiated literacy and numeracy programs.
- Proven capacity to implement effective classroom management systems to support positive student wellbeing and cater for all students, including high potential and gifted.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, enhance practice and build positive and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
- Experience and/or willingness to co-ordinate and implement school initiatives in music and dance to strengthen school culture and engagement.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to support students’ creativity, collaboration and critical thinking through leading and embedding pedagogies and programs that meaningfully integrate Information Communication Technology.
