**Position Information**:
Ashtonfield Public School, with an enrolment of 521 students, is situated in the lower Hunter Valley on Wonnarua land. The school has a Family Occupation Education Index (FOEI) of 88, the student population includes forty-six Aboriginal students and fifty-eight students with a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE).

The school is held in high regard by its local community with an interested and active parent body working hard to support the school by providing opportunities for all students. Opening in 2007 and delivering a balanced curriculum with a clear focus on the academics, the arts and sport, the school looks forward to continuing a long tradition of quality education. The school embraces evidence-based approaches in teaching and learning and is committed to every child, every moment. The school currently works in partnership with John Fleming and Explicit Instruction. Our strategic directions are driven by student and staff wellbeing through the employment of an Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Aboriginal Education Teacher.

A project to upgrade Ashtonfield Public School was completed in 2021. The project delivered a new permanent two storey building, which provides innovative and flexible learning spaces for 12 classes with Years 3-6 students currently learning in flexible spaces.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval to teach infants and primary with proven ability to provide quality differentiated teaching and learning programs, using evidence-informed pedagogy that caters for the diverse needs of all learners, including high potential students and those requiring additional support.
- Ability to teach technology delivering innovative curriculum that engages students in authentic and meaningful learning experiences.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative partnerships with staff, students, families and wider community with an emphasis on contributing to school initiatives to strengthen school culture.
- Demonstrated willingness and capacity to co-ordinate and implement extra-curricula activities including sport and debating.
