Grade 4 Team Leader - Forklift Operations, Hume Rd
At our Hume Road facility in Melbourne, we are seeking ahands-on**Grade 4 Team Leader - Forklift Operations** to join our Local Transport team.

This role combines operational forklift duties with frontline leadership.

You'll not only operate safely and efficiently but also guide a small team, ensuring compliance, performance, and the smooth execution of daily loading and unloading activities.

**Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Safely operate forklifts to load/unload transport trucks
- Direct, support, and oversee a small team to achieve operational goals
- Set clear performance expectations and monitor progress
- Plan and organise transport loads with the support of the wider transport team
- Monitor load safety and efficiency to ensure timely dispatch
- Complete and check relevant documentation and records
- Estimate load limits for safe storage and transport of goods
- Lead by example in upholding safety standards, COR compliance and hazard management
- Contribute to toolbox talks, continuous improvement, and team development
- Step into operational duties where required to support your team

**What You Bring**
- A strong safety-first mindset with knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR)
- Current forklift licence and proven operational experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse/transport environment
- Ability to communicate clearly, set expectations and support team development
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to continuous improvement and collaborative team culture
