**The Opportunity**

We have an opportunity for a Communications Team Lead to be part of our Industry Strategy and Partnerships Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The Communications Team Lead provides leadership and direction to the Communications team in the Communication and Digital Services directorate. This unit operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to deliver best-practice and innovative communication and digital services across the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA).

This role is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of effective communications strategies and associated activities that increase awareness about the work of the department and amplifies across channels. This includes proactive planning of communications activities with business units, engagement with key stakeholders, identified partners and the development of high-quality communications plans, briefings and key messages as well as providing expert advice on communications issues including marketing, branding, sponsorship, industry partnerships and event management. The role is responsible for the provision of internal communications, ensuring PIRSA’s workforce is aware of requirements, successes, and opportunities. The Team Lead is required to liaise with business areas to determine required resources and recommend delivery accordingly where the Service Level is beyond core business requirements (SL2).

Working in close collaboration with all Communications branch streams, the Team Lead can identify and mitigate risks as well as leverage opportunities. The role works with a large degree of autonomy in respect to setting work priorities and managing workload. The nature of the position means the Communications Team Lead requires extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in communications, preferably in a government context, strong management skills, outstanding relationship management and teamwork capabilities. An ability to quickly comprehend complex issues and translate into clear, concise, and easy to understand content and direction is essential to success in this role.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Opportunity up to June 2025.
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

**Requirements**:

- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

**Remuneration**

ASO7 - $108,109 min - $116,864 max per annum, plus superannuation
