**About the opportunity**:
Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable families and making a meaningful impact in the community? Join Uniting as a Triage & Assessment Specialist in our Family Connect & Support (FCS) program and be at the forefront of helping children, young people, and families thrive. This is your chance to contribute to a program that prevents the escalation of issues and ensures immediate, essential support is provided to those who need it most.
In this critical role, you’ll be conducting whole-of-family assessments, determining vulnerability and complexity, and ensuring that immediate needs are met. You’ll provide high-quality support within an evidence-based framework, focusing on safety, risk, and the wellbeing of children and young people.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
- Support children, young people and families by delivering services aligned with FCS program guidelines.
- Engage families through diverse methods including telephone interviews, home visits, and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Act as a key resource for addressing child protection risks and guiding safety planning.
- Build strong relationships with local service providers to ensure seamless support.
- Ensure compliance with FCS program timeframes and service standards.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all client interactions.
**Your Qualifications & Experience**
**To succeed in this role, you will have**:
- A bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
- Experience in comprehensive needs assessments, focusing on safety planning for children and families.
- Expertise in working with families facing complex issues, including child protection and cultural sensitivities.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Aboriginal and CALD communities in a culturally respectful way.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills for triage and assessment processes.
- A current NSW WWCC and a current driver’s license.
