The Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail Project is a nation building project and will be the largest infrastructure project ever built in Queensland. Transport and Main Roads' (TMR) has established a team to lead the Queensland Government's involvement in this Australian Government project, which is being delivered by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC).
In the role of Principal Planner (Regional Planning and Facilitation), you will provide specialist transport, land use and corridor planning advice to the project team and provide an interface between the project team, other TMR units and the Office of the Coordinator-General.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Being a key interface between the project team, other TMR units and the Office of the Coordinator-General for project assessment including department reviews of design, traffic impact assessments and the Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).
- Identify, evaluate and develop high level innovative planning process and policy options that support departmental and project objectives in relation to the planning requirements of the project and its interface with Regional Offices and Local Government.
- Prepare timely, well researched and well written submissions, briefs, correspondence and other required materials.
- Consult and negotiate with internal and external agencies, and represent the department at meetings on integrated land use and transport planning issues in relation to the project and associated studies.
- Assist in building and maintaining of a cohesive and high performing team with a focus on positive workplace culture, building and maintaining strong relationships, achieving high quality timely results and strong morale, including personal management and accountability.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.

This position reports to the Manager (Planning and Environment).

TMR is currently considering the implementation of a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy whereby it would be a condition of employment for TMR employees to be and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
