In the role of Principal Planner you will provide guidance and support to officersacross Transport and Main Roads' (TMR) about the assessment of development app lications, Planning and Environment Court appeals and compliance and enforcement matters relating to development approvals. This includes the development and implementation of improvements to development assessment and compliance processes as well as providing learnings to relevant TMR officers.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Provide high level technical advice and support to the Manager in relation to development assessment matters.
- Instigate policy and legislative improvements and provide input into the preparation of polices, codes and technical guidelines relating to the department's transport interests in development assessment.
- Identify and provide key learnings in relation to development assessments to relevant areas of the department.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding development assessment matters.
- Foster effective working relationships with clients and key stakeholders and represent the division on relevant working groups and forums as required.
- Ensure records management processes are maintained for all correspondence.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture ofperformance improvement.
- Working as part of an innovative team promoting continual improvement in the way we do our business. This position reports to the Manager (Development Compliance and Support) and has no direct reports.

TMR is currently considering the implementation of a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy whereby it would be a condition of employment for TMR employees to be and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
