BIS are currently recruiting for an experience Workshop Manager who will manage and lead our Tomago workshop to deliver customer requirements in a profitable, safe and efficient manager. This will be achieved through delivering in six (6) key results areas, Zero Harm, Team Leadership, Operational excellence, Customer and Business Development, Commercial and Financial Optimization and Business Improvement.
You will have a strong and supportive team around you to ensure these key areas are delivered, these members include Estimators, Workshop Coordinators, Administration, Leading hands etc.
This would be a perfect opportunity for a skilled Workshop Manager who wants to make a difference and be a key influencer in enabling the workshop to grow exponentially.
**Key responsibilities for this role include**:
Continuous improvement and enhancement of a Zero Harm culture to enable Bis management to eliminate or otherwise control risks within Bis.
- Actively promote and embed a positive safety culture through demonstrated safety leadership practices and a commitment to Zero Harm.
- Develop and maintain effective communications with employees, being aware of and responding positively to the matters that concern them.
- Conduct PEPs with employees, providing feedback and development opportunities.
- Provide effective leadership, direction, advice and support to the team, as required, promoting teamwork to accomplish the workshop goals.
- Building partnerships, collaboration and supporting key internal and external stakeholders.
- Interpret, identify risks and devise strategies to mitigate risks in respect of work tasks and legislative / regulatory requirements.
- Identify business improvement opportunities and implement programs to meet internal and external customer requirements and efficiencies.
**The successful applicant will possess**:
- 5+ years’ experience at a workshop supervisory with experience leading teams
- Well-developed business acumen and critical thinking skills
- Ability to understand financial impacts of operational decisions
- High leadership skills, ability to influence, motivate others, coach and mentor personnel at all site management and operational levels
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, multiple projects, and conflicting priorities to achieve competing deadlines
- High level of initiative and problem-solving kills
- Proven ability to build networks and manage relationships
- Influencing skills / managing expectations
- Previous experience with client/contractor relationship management
- The ability to pass a pre-employment functional medical including a drug & alcohol test
