**The Role
The Customer Space Manager brings the BIG W Strategy to life by leading a team of space planners and partnering with various stakeholders to deliver customer and insight led merchandising strategies aligned to our category strategy across the network. The customer Space Manager will play a key critical role as we embark on an exciting journey of transformation within the Space team, introducing new capabilities and data driven innovation to achieve our mission of delivering excellence in merchandising.
**Main Accountabilities;
- Partner with Head of Businesses, Senior Category Managers and Category Managers, continually seeking to understand the challenges and Space opportunities for each category, then proactively implementing solutions to meet our teams and customers needs.
- Design and implement a compelling engagement strategy for key stakeholders to secure the required level of collaboration
- Build and maintain key strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels in the Commercial teams to influence and achieve the best possible customer outcomes
- Building and/or driving the space strategy at both the overarching and at category level focusing on merchandising excellence, optimisation, ease of shop, ROS & Sales
- Utilising customer insights and data to influence key stakeholders.
- Oversee adherence to the critical path & planogram processes according to the set timelines
- Manage and coach a team who are responsible for the development and delivery of category strategies end to end though planograms
- Participate & assist in a cross functional Space & Range post implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement
- Leading high value key initiatives and projects that include facilitating goal level creation for the broader team.
- Regularly identify risks and mitigate any negative impact though risk assessment strategies.
- Accountable for identifying and driving innovation that enhances our capabilities, improves our ways of working and delivers great outcomes for our stores, their teams and our customers
- Deliver a Space framework/ capability that considers and supports all channels, Bricks and eCom
- Play a key leadership role in Commercial Enablement, supporting the broader transformation journey
- Driving continuous improvement and evolution of space capabilities and processes in line with the Big W’s strategic objectives
- The role includes teaching, change management, developing and sharing best practices, sustaining tools and processes, and measuring results of both Space Management and cross functional teams as appropriate.
