Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Assist the DLO and CLLO to manage the flow of information between the ministerial office and the department to ensure the timely provision of quality and relevant information ensuring that advice is consist with government policy, departmental objectives, and procedures.
- Undertake a critical examination and quality assurance of material for the Office of the Minister and the Office of the Director-General ensuring compliance with the department's style guide.
- Assist the CLLO in the preparation and management of Cabinet-related and parliamentary documents.
- Provide support and accurate advice to departmental staff on document tracking and the preparation of briefing material and responses in line with standards and protocols.
- Assist the DLO to manage a high-volume electronic mailbox, providing support and advice including actioning incoming requests; finalising signed correspondence and briefing material to ensure work is prioritised and actioned in a timely manner.
- Liaise, consult, negotiate and maintain effective communication with staff at all levels and manage sensitive and/or confidential information in an appropriate manner.
- Provide support to the DLO and CLLO by assisting in the preparation of trip brief materials for ministerial visits and briefing materials for Cabinet, Cabinet Committees and Parliament.
