AlayaCare is looking for a pragmatic and experienced Staff DevOps Analyst to join our engineering team in Australia. Full time permanent role in Sydney.

**What you’ll be doing**

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Staff DevOps Analyst, focus on scaling AlayaCare’s current infrastructure, building a world class Kubernetes deployment pipeline, enhancing monitoring and alerting, improving resiliency, building the necessary tooling and promotes a DevOps culture. Staff DevOps Analysts are involved in various stages of each product's lifespan and remain abreast of technological advancements to promote efficiency. They keep track of customer reviews to enhance marketability. They also ensure that all outputs remain safe for public consumption. They demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the capacity to mentor junior staff.

**More specifically you will**:
Design, code, test, and debug complex software with a high level of quality, sitting as a key member of a feature development team.
- Provide technical leadership for your team, and improve your colleagues’ skills through code reviews, technical mentoring, role-modelling, coaching, and knowledge-sharing.
- Hold accountability for all technical decisions in your team’s domain
- Lead technical innovation in the areas of component re-use, extensibility, maintainability and scalability.
- Contribute to defining and implementing the product-wide technical roadmap, championing technical cross-team initiatives and adoption of new technologies that are aligned with industry trends.
- In the future, participate in an on-call rotation (that respects your time) to support your team’s software.
- Identify gaps in product requirements and work with Product Owners to design features that meet client needs
- Plan, implement and execute end to end automated tests that validate good quality results.
- Help team members understand core concepts and tools of their craft.
- While working across teams, anticipate problems, recognize barriers, and proactively raise concerns to management and to senior members of the technical organization
- Evaluate existing engineering processes and procedures in your domains, identifying areas that need optimization, and leading the optimization effort.
- Keep abreast of developments and innovation in your area of specialization.
- Contribute to all forms of quality (support tickets and playbooks, security, performance) among multiple teams or at the engineering level.

Drive engineering level initiatives (Initiative to drive down support tickets, POC to increase test execution velocity, etc).

**About you**

We’re looking for someone who is infrastructure focused and understands infrastructure as code. You will need to be able to work independently and be confident in making decisions on your own - ideally you’ve worked for a global company with time zone handovers before. You will also have:

- 10+ years experience in DevOps/SRE/Cloud infrastructure
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Linux
- Mastering at least a development or scripting language such as python, go or bash
- Strong knowledge of primary AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, ALB/ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, etc.)
- Experience with APM monitoring/logging systems such as New Relic, Data Dog, Prometheus, ELK...
- Proficiency with APIs & microservices architecture
- Knowledge of system/network security and data backup/recovery
- Experience in Incident Management
- Big believer in the Agile manifesto with methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
- Excellent communication skills
- Works as a team player in a collaborative environment
