**Azure Data Engineer**

**About the Role:**

We're seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You'll work with cross-functional teams to develop robust data pipelines, optimize data workflows, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and implement end-to-end data solutions using Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from various sources (on-premises, cloud, streaming) into Azure data platforms

  • Develop data models and schemas optimized for analytics and reporting using SQL and dimensional modeling techniques

  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance measures including data encryption, access controls, and auditing

  • Optimize query performance and data processing workflows for cost-efficiency and speed

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions

  • Monitor data pipeline health, troubleshoot issues, and implement automated alerting

  • Document technical designs, data flows, and operational procedures

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering roles

  • Strong proficiency with Azure data services (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, ADLS, SQL Database)

  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with data warehousing concepts

  • Programming experience in Python, Scala, or PySpark

  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL design patterns, and data integration best practices

  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Azure certifications (DP-203: Azure Data Engineer Associate or similar)

  • Experience with streaming data technologies (Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Kafka)

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Terraform)

  • Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization

  • Experience with medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers)

**Technical Skills:**

  • Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Data Lake Storage
