
Strategic Workforce Planner

This role is responsible for strategic analysis and reporting of workforce data and trends
that contribute to the development and reporting of workforce planning activities including
organisational and service level reviews, service planning and council’s strategic
workforce plan.
Working with the program leader strategic workforce this position will further develop and
implement council’s workforce planning framework and develop council’s workforce
planning capability. This position will partner with stakeholders to obtain / provide
workforce information, provide strategic advice and recommend workforce planning
solutions to support the workforce to deliver our organisation strategic priorities and
commitments in the delivery program and operational plan.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist in the development and implementation of a workforce planning framework that
supports a consistent approach across Council.
- Development and implementation of workforce planning systems and reporting
dashboards for Council’s services
- Analysis and reporting on workforce data and trends that contribute to the
development of workforce planning strategies that support operational and people
plans.
- Partner with key stakeholders to provide insight on workforce data, and make
recommendations for workforce strategies to address any areas of priority,
- Coach and develop stakeholders to undertake workforce planning activities.
- Utilise technology and analytical tools to develop, analyse and report on workforce
data.
- Create, maintain, and ensure quality assurance of key workforce data sets, plans,
reports, and metrics.
- Develop and implement appropriate measurement and performance reporting for
Workforce Strategy and Workforce Planning initiatives /solutions.
- Work collaboratively with members of Strategic Resource Allocation branch to ensure
a consistent and efficient approach to strategic workforce, financial and asset
resource allocation.

**Workplace Health & Safety**
Ensure compliance with WHS obligations and responsibilities as outlined in Councils
policies and procedures and under the relevant WHS legislation. These include but are

Supervisor or Manager (or the Health, Safety Manager/Area Safety Representative);

This position will ensure that all change activities comply with relevant legislation and risk
management plans where applicable are managed.
**COMMUNICATION**
High level communication skills are required to gather, analyse, prepare, and present
complex information that demonstrates organisational /sector understanding and can be
used to inform strategic direction and decision making.
This position will work closely with the Program Leader Strategic Workforce to ensure
complex and at times sensitive information is presented appropriately to ensure insight,
