**The Policy Officer key responsibilities are**:

- Assist in the provision of advice to ensure the efficient, effective and coordinated development of whole of government solutions to complex human services policy issues. Assist in the provision of strategic analysis and advice on complex policy, legislative and/or intergovernmental relations issues. Provide support in the coordination of responses to contribute to achieving identified outcomes. Provide project support and coordination for delivery of major reforms and key policy and project work. Undertake policy research on contemporary policy and legislative frameworks, based on evidence and best practice locally, nationally and internationally. Contribute as a member of a policy team to meet all elements of the work program. Contribute to meeting the Cabinet work program, consistent with Government commitments and directions set by the Minister and Director-General, meeting all deadlines and performance requirements.
