**The opportunity**

Silverchain are seeking an experienced **Application & Platforms Lead** to join the Digital Services team on a permanent full-time basis.

**Key responsibilities**

The major accountabilities of this position are:

- Establish and implement best practices and methodologies related to development cycles, technical system design, and configuration.
- Manage career development plans for the team and embed continuous learning practices through coaching, training and cross-skilling.
- Work closely with the business stakeholders to define project resources and to provide estimates of work effort based on business requirements and technical design.
- Manage and develop ongoing communications with vendors to ensure understanding of future direction, new technologies, and identification of new opportunities.
- Liaise directly with key operational and business leaders to identify potential solution options, enhancements and recommendations and automate and optimise processes where possible.
- Contribute to the development and management of the platform's roadmap, including future initiatives and enhancements.
- Maintain a development and configuration audit trail for all production releases and changes to ensure strict compliance and traceability.
- Lead audit and compliance from an IT perspective, including annual year-end assessments.
- Monitor and actively ensure the incidents, service requests and demands are resolved within the relevant timelines.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Possess a strong understanding of development cycles, technical system design, and configuration.
- Understanding business processes and the impact of business process change.
- Proactive, solutions-focused attitude with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
- Sound negotiating and influencing skills to guide stakeholders in their understanding of systems and their operation.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively, utilising best practice methods where possible.
- Well-developed communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Knowledge of, or ideally experience working in a DevOps environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of, or ideally a qualification in ITIL is desirable.
