**Job Description**:
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Professional Infrastructure Economist to join our growing Infrastructure Strategy and Economics team based in Melbourne.

You will use your economic analysis and advisory skills to contribute to the development of high-profile infrastructure projects in Victoria, and others across Australia. Our priorities include Victoria’s Big Build transport program, government-led energy transition and decarbonisation programs, and social improvement projects across the health and environment sectors.

Sitting within the broader Infrastructure Advisory group, the Infrastructure Strategy and Economics team is responsible for providing economic advisory services across a range of sectors including transport, energy, defence, health, and water.

We work closely with a range of public and private sector clients across Australia and New Zealand to solve complex infrastructure issues and will provide you with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and gain valuable industry experience.

About the role

We are looking for an innovative, dynamic individual who is keen to:
+ Learn about all types of infrastructure projects, including planning, design and funding

+ Work with our engineers, planners and other technical specialists to develop fit-for-purpose solutions for our clients

+ Multi-task and deliver challenging, complex projects.

As a Professional Infrastructure Economist, you will have the following responsibilities:
+ Supporting the development of business cases for infrastructure projects

+ Undertaking economic modelling and analysis

+ Build and maintain close working relationships with internal and external clients

+ Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders

+ Participating in proposal development, project management, and report writing

**Qualifications**:
+ A degree in commerce/economics, finance, and/or engineering disciplines, or similar.

+ 1-3 years of relevant industry experience

+ Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets

+ Strong communication and presentation skills

+ An interest in problem-solving and ability to think creatively

+ Emerging project management skills

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

+ Strong proficiency in Excel and other relevant software

+ A desire to deliver AECOM’s Values and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.
