Lead Product Manager

Are you an entrepreneurial thinking, **experienced Product Manager **looking for a role where you can bring your deep understanding of processes and product management methodology to a newly created role?

As the lead of our Product function, you will be responsible for defining, planning and delivering the new features, and feature improvements for the FireMate product. You will lead a team of product managers and designers who will assist you in your endeavour to define and deliver the product roadmap. Working with a globally based group of Engineers you will be responsible for ensuring FireMate builds the right things, in the right priority for our customer base and the market.

**In this role, you'll**:

- Develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Work closely with the leadership team on product design innovation, ideation, and overall business growth
- Gather and prioritise product requirements, feeding them into the ideation and development process
- Work with Product, Design, and Development teams to enhance existing features and bring new ones to market
- Engage with users and stakeholders through a range of channels to understand their business needs and use cases and to encourage take-up and use of your product
- Assist in the prioritisation of development tasks
- Work with marketing to plan the go-to-market strategies to build awareness
- Definition and alignment of the vision, strategy and roadmap, in order to establish the company as a global supplier
- Create and present visionary innovations, strategic decision proposals, as well as the calculation of business cases
- You will represent the company with regard to strategic customers
- Monitor the market and keep abreast of trends in the Fire Protection Industry
- The role of a Head of Product Management will require you to travel to markets FireMate serve including the UK and Australia

**On day one we'll expect you to have**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Creative problem-solving approach and strong business acumen.
- Capability of understanding customer pain points, requirements and correlating potential business to value.
- Experience with software development lifecycle, managing software projects, and working with development teams.
- Experience managing day-to-day product development and direction.
- Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, UX/UI, database structure or backend development.
- You have experience in the fire protection industry space.
- You have excellent analytical skills, a data-driven approach to decision-making, and a systems-thinking style when problem-solving.
- You have excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- You’re a curious, active learner who can independently research problems, come up with a great solution, and explain it to the team.

**About us**:
**FireMate** is a fire protection, asset management and compliance software provider with a subscription only business model, based in Australia. They sell software and app licenses to specialist fire companies and contractors to help them manage their service offering to end-users. The software enables the contractor to schedule maintenance and testing in accordance with mandatory standards, enables tracking of all fire protection assets, provides complete traceability of test and service operations, ensures that regulatory obligations have been fulfilled, and produces test and service reports according to the standards. In addition, the software facilitates contract administration, including quoting and billing. It can be connected to the customer’s ERP via APIs.

Firemate was acquired by Halma in January 2020 as there is clearly a trend for digitalization within the fire industry, both for installation/commissioning and for maintenance/after-sales. Firemate operates as a stand-alone business and is ready to scale internationally.

Firemate also has a UK branch with a complementary product offering called Nimbus which provides remote monitoring of fire detection systems. This comes from the merge in 2020 of a pre-existing Halma business called Lan Control Systems. The strategic rationale for this transfer was that Nimbus and FireMate together would provide a unique value proposition to the market and that an integrated solution would eventually provide a seamless and forensically traceable management of testing and compliance. This remains a question mark as we stand.
