A well-known NFP organisation seeking a Category Manager for a Permanent Full-Time role based in Sydney CBD

This well known NFP SME organisation requires a permanent full-time Category Manager to join their team at a great rate of pay. The organisation collaborates with Councils to address their procurement needs through effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the business outcomes. **Your new role**
In your new position, you will be leading the procurement requirements of an assigned category for the organisation to identify, develop and implement new and updated sourcing and category strategies.

You will be responsible for:

- Improving the quality of current and prospect contracts
- Supply chain and contract risk management
- Achieve KPI's
- Negotiation and resolution of contractual affairs
- Demonstrate specialist expertise and suggestions to key stakeholders (e.g. give evaluations and advice to current tenders and vendors)
- Conduct market research to obtain current industry and market knowledge
- Timely tracking and reporting of contract performance (cost-benefit analysis)

**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have category management experience, ideally in the areas of IT, Professional Services, Plant, Fleet, Engineering & Works, Audit, Facilities Management, Advertising or Office Supplies). You will have a formal qualification in Supply Chain/Procurement/legal, etc. You will have worked in challenging, cross-functional teams and have led challenging procurement projects. You will have strong negotiation skills, with formal training.

In addition to this, you will have strong contract management and analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, whilst meeting deadlines. You will have strong communication skills as you will be liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
