**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We have an exciting opportunity within our Environment and Planning Systems team for a dynamic individual who will have the opportunity to work and contribute to a variety of environmental programs and projects and be exposed to a diversity of specialties within the environment and sustainability profession.

The successful applicant will require:

- Enrolled or completed a Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or equivalent.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines with possession of excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise, implement instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills and ability to operate computer-based systems
- Ability to show a professional approach, including attention to detail, outcomes focuses and a courteous attitude
- Willingness to work in a team environment with the ability to show initiative and manage individual responsibility
- Class C Drivers Licence.

**Position information**: This is a term contract, full-time position for a period of up to 12 months, working a 35 hour week, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.

This role is predominantly located at Council's Auburn office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 8 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,235.73 to $1,421.09 per week, plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
