**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Chief Customer and Operating Officer, you will be supporting the Customer and Operations Division which has circa 2000 employees. You will lead the Divisional risk and compliance team, comprising approximately 40 FTE, ensuring they meet their risk and compliance management obligations by driving a strong risk culture through influence, leadership, advice and guidance. As a member of the Division’s leadership team, you will demonstrate thought leadership and influence across a complex multi-functional Division with proactive advice, review and challenge of the approach to managing risk
**Other key aspects of the role**:
- You will lead a team
- that provide advice on the design, implementation and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of division-specific compliance and risk procedures, processes and controls, monitoring business activities against defined risk appetite and escalating as required.
- to deliver control assurance testing across the Division in accordance with the enterprise wide integrated assurance plan maintained by Line 2.
- in the design and delivery of other targeted or thematic reviews in support of Divisional management including Framework and risk owners.
- to provide advice and guidance on the implementation of corporate compliance and risk frameworks and policies, liaising closely with Line 2 on all divisional-specific risk management and compliance matters, and escalate non-adherence and/or delays in completing, updating and maintaining operational compliance plans, quarterly risk declarations, risk views and all key risk and control assessment activities.
- to support Divisional management in investigating the root cause and in designing actions to address.
**Important to your success**:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred).
- Demonstrated Leader of Leader experience, successfully leading high performing risk or compliance teams.
- Pragmatic, commercial business approach to Risk and Compliance
- Evidence of significant stakeholder influencing and building a strong Risk and Compliance culture
- Significant Operations and or Information Technology Risk and Compliance experience - preferably from a matrixed Insurance or Financial Services organisation with demonstrated technical understanding of design and operating effectiveness of controls
