The image of children as active participants is core to our pedagogy, and we move forward with a strong focus on contemporary practice and innovation. **Description**: **Overview of the Position**: - General handyman/maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, general repairs and maintenance, external building & ground works, painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, etc. - Carrying out routine & preventative maintenance to a high standard on Gowrie NSW Childcare Centres. - Provide material quotes on proposed larger project works to enable a costed schedule to be produced by the Facilities Manager to allow for the submission of budgets. - Ability to supervise specialist Sub-Contractors on site when applicable. - A positive attitude and the ability to prioritise is a must. - Due to the nature of the work, occasional travel to and work in Regional NSW areas, including overnight stops, may be required. - Experience in property maintenance with the ability to undertake manual/physical work. - Excellent knowledge of WHS and managing risks. - Experience in any other trade with handyman experience will be highly regarded. - Excellent communication and technology skills - Self-motivated and punctual, with a proactive "can-do" attitude, capable of working independently. - Commitment to be flexible and the ability to plan and manage their own schedule. **Essential Requirements**: - Experienced in executing and overseeing comprehensive repairs and maintenance tasks - The ability to obtain a Working with Children Check. - Full Drivers Licence. - Tools of the trade. Desirable Experience - General Contractor Licence. - Experience of working within a childcare environment. - Experience or qualifications in various trades. **Gowrie NSW will provide**: - Company Vehicle. - Company Credit Card.
