The Role
WAAPA is seeking a Work Health and Safety professional to develop, manage and implement work health and safety practices and processes at WAAPA. They will maintain currency and awareness of legislative requirements to ensure WAAPA is compliant with all relevant safety regulations, guidelines, and code of practices. The role will work with WAAPA management and the central WHS team to contextualise the ECU WHS framework to WAAPA operations and risks.
You will have sufficient WHS expertise to be able to coordinate compliance, support risk management and devise and implement recommendations. You will be an excellent communicator, capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be highly organised, comfortable with working to tight deadlines. You will also enjoy using your highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and devise mutually beneficial solutions.
Experience in a live theatre production environment will be highly regarded.
Key Criteria
Deep understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices, with a proven track record in implementing diverse WHS strategies and managing projects.
Experience in both operational and strategic risk management including undertaking audits, conceptualising risks, responding to existing risks and completing required improvement actions.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, educate, and build strong relationships with diverse audiences, including senior management.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $92,087 to $99,353 pa (HEW 6) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
