- I would like to share with you my journey here at Sands. I started in a temporary entry level administration position. I have worked in pickups, receivals, data entry and the POD department. This allowed me to gain valuable skills and insight into how the transport industry works. I am now a full-time permanent member of the Sands team and have been promoted to the role of Customer Service Representative._

**The Opportunity**

Sands Fridge Lines are looking to invest in a Trainee Transport and Logistics officer/Clerk to gain exposure and get a foot in the door of the ever-changing transport industry

If you have a great attitude, a willingness to learn and are looking to make a long-term commitment to your next role, we can walk you through the rest

As this is an entry level position, you will be spending time with the different departments that make up our WA and Family-owned business and will be mentored by leading members of our team.

**To be successful, you will have**:

- Go getter attitude, willingness to Learn
- Driving licence (C Class) and reliable transport
- Resilient attitude, and be able to deal with the challenges that will be thrown at you by an extremely Fluid Industry that is Transport
- Ability to build relationships with people from different departments and walks of life
- The ability to work effectively in a team and autonomously
- Exceptional work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- The capacity to work flexible times and work away from home
- Previous experience with refrigerated transport

**Key responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Shadowing operations team and learning the day to day running requirements of the business
- Learning from our Customer Service department - conflict resolution and de-escalation tactics, whilst providing exceptional service to our valued clients
- Learning the art of Scheduling in the transport industry, learning how all different pieces of the puzzle fit, to ensure a business runs smoothly and without incident
- Training in compliance and health and safety aspects of the Business as a whole across different department.
- Ensuring all practices are to OHS standards
- Understanding the scheduled and reactive maintenance of our expansive refrigerated and dry fleet
- Spending time with our Accounts team to follow policies and processes of the refrigerated and chilled freight industry
- Other clerk and administration duties as per required
