Thales Australia is looking for a passionate and motivated Enterprise Risk and Compliance Specialist who enjoys thinking outside the box to join our Legal & Contract function in a role that will primarily support risk and regulatory compliance activities in Australia. This is a unique role that supports the Chief Compliance Officer, Governance & Compliance Manager and business and corporate teams in the implementation of Thales Australia’s compliance risk management framework. If you want to be a true business partner in a role that provides exposure to all aspects of our operations, then this may be the role for you.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

- Assist in implementation of risk and compliance management processes across the Australian organisation including incident management and regulatory change.
- P artnering with operations leads within the business and corporate teams to identify and assess risk and design and test controls.
- Support the incident management and regulatory change process
- Facilitate reporting on risks, plans, and controls to various audiences
- Proactively engage with senior management to develop risk profiles and test and optimise their control environment.
- Participate in policy and standards development, and advise management on opportunities to optimise the risk profile of their business or function
- Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance policies and processes
- Contribute to the risk and compliance awareness activities across first and second line.
- Help build a strong risk and compliance culture by influencing change across a wide stakeholder group
- Provide general assistance to the broader Legal and Contracts team on compliance matters as necessary (e.g. third-party due diligence process, drafting template documents for the business etc).

About You
- We work in a complex, cross-jurisdictional environment so you will be working with regulatory requirements from multiple jurisdictions and across a matrix organisation.
- You’ll be comfortable working with stakeholders at various levels of seniority and technical understanding to translate risk and compliance needs into business risks.
- You’re inquisitive and a critical thinker who thrives on problem solving and delivering bespoke outcomes
- Experience in across Line 1 or 2 risk, compliance, audit or assurance roles in a complex or heavily regulated environment is preferred, as well as knowledge of non-financial risk management including operational, regulatory, compliance and conduct risks.
- Experience in delivering enterprise level risk or compliance projects frameworks is an advantage, but not required.
