As a result of current demands and the continuing growth of the Configuration Management department of **Austal’s PMO Department,** we have an opportunity for an experienced **Acquisition Configuration Management Lead** to join us on a permanent and full-time basis, working in **Henderson, WA.**

**Austal **are seeking a motivated and experienced **Acquisition Configuration Management Lead** to join our global ship-building company. The role is accountable to the **Configuration Manager** and will lead the delivery of configuration management activities in support of Acquisition Defence and Commercial projects. This is a great opportunity to lead a fast-paced, knowledgeable CM team.

**_Key objectives & responsibilities include:_**
- Lead a team of Configuration Officers and Document Controllers in the coordination and delivery of CM activities
- Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities for Configuration Management
- Lead the delivery of ASDEFCON configuration outputs as per the Contract Data Requirements List
- Maintain hardware and software baselines
- Manage the Configuration Status Accounting Reporting
- Manage the delivery of Master Record Index
- Accountable for lifecycle management of Engineering Change
- Provide secretariate duties for Configuration Control Board and Engineering Review Boards
- Liaise with stakeholders to conduct configuration management activities
- Lead the coordination and conduct of Physical Configuration Audits
- Provide support to the Configuration Manager as directed

**_Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:_**
- Minimum of 5+ years of configuration management experience preferably in a Defence industry Acquisition and/or Sustainment role
- Minimum of 2+ years in a leadership role
- Formal Configuration Management Certification
- Strong management skills and team building capability
- Ability to distribute Configuration knowledge to the wider company
- Exceptional knowledge of Configuration principles
- Experience in delivery of ASDEFCON outputs
- Experienced in conducting Desktop and Physical Configuration Audits
- Strong knowledge of configuration standards, EIA-649C, MIL-STD-973 and MIL-HDBK-61
- Diligent, self-motivated and can operate calmly and proficiently under pressure
- Self-motivated, results orientated and able to work independently
- Be strategic, analytical, innovative, with solid problem-solving skills
