We are on our path towards becoming the Commonwealths “Strategic Shipbuilder” in the West, aiming to be in contract for the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA). Join us for this exciting opportunity to be part of continuous naval shipbuilding, contributing and significant work for the Australian Defence Force.

The SSA will establish an overarching program which enables the design and build of vessels at the Henderson Shipyard. The objective of the SSA is to possess the capacity and capability to initially deliver Landing Craft Medium & Heavy for the Australian Army in supporting continuous naval shipbuilding in WA.

The SSA is about establishing the capability within the Henderson Precinct, and Western Australia, to continuously build vessels for the Commonwealth. It will be led by Austal, and will require the engagement of local industry, supply chain and workforce to be successful.

**About the Opportunity**

The Document Controller is a key position within the Configuration Management team, ‘delivering together.’ You’ll be.
- Contribute to the strategy, planning, and execution of document control systems and procedures.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of configuration management tools, procedures, and processes.
- Prepare reporting, coordination and management of issues associated with the Configuration Management Tool
- Provide timely responses to stakeholder queries and requests for support related to configuration management and document control.
- Oversee and manage access to technical data, ensuring security, intellectual property protection, and compliance with export control regulations.
- Manage the receipt, registration, distribution, and tracking of technical documentation.
- Prepare audit packs for physical configuration audits.
- Assist with the processing of Engineering Changes, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are included for review and approval.
- Coordinate and manage the distribution of Engineering Changes to relevant stakeholders, ensuring that the appropriate teams (engineering, technical, quality, etc.) are involved in the review process.
- Maintain records of all Change records, audit records, tracking their progress from initiation through to approval and implementation

**Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrable experience in Document Management and related systems
- Certificate of Education or equivalent
- IT skills (MS Office and Excel)
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Baseline Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline (desirable but not mandatory)
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Strategic thinker, excellent problem solving skills

**Security Clearance roles only**: Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
