With ongoing training programs and a team of over 500, our people have room to grow and move as they make a meaningful contribution to Australia’s Defence. **Your Role** Located centrally in Woolloomooloo’s Garden Island, as the Business Improvement Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and managing business improvement projects within the AWS portfolio. Your role will encompass strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The primary focus will be on delivering operational excellence while ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness are prioritized to meet customer needs and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Lead business improvement initiatives within the AWS portfolio. - Enhance business management and reporting platforms for transparent performance. - Collaborate with stakeholders to drive cost-effective solutions. - Manage and improve Business Improvements schedule, budget, and risks. - Conduct benchmarking to identify performance improvement opportunities. - Serve as Subject Matter Expert on key transformation workstreams. - Provide strategic stakeholder management and communication. - Mentor platforms/projects for their own improvement initiatives. **Your Experience** On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours: - Degree qualified in business, engineering, project management, or related discipline. - Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams effectively. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. - Ability to deliver effective commercial and financial outcomes for business improvement initiatives. - Experience in fostering a constructive culture and promoting high-performing teams. - Experience in leading business transformations in a large company. - Proficiency in collaborative tools like SharePoint. - Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera Core Model. **We Encourage You To Apply** We’ll then provide a personalised experience for suitable applicants as we progress the selection and assessment process.
