**About our role**:
The Manager of Infrastructure Services supports and advances Lactalis Australia’s IT infrastructure and systems by leading a team of System Administrators and Infrastructure experts. The role ensures that IT infrastructure services and systems remain resilient, supportable, cost-effective, and secure, while consistently delivering the functionality and technology expected by users.
**Responsibilities include**:
Infrastructure Management
- Ensures the smooth operation of both on-premises and cloud systems, including servers, networks, storage, backups, and data centres.
- Oversees upgrades, maintenance, and overall system lifecycle to reduce downtime and boost efficiency.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Leads and supports the ICT Infrastructure team by managing workloads, mentoring staff, and encouraging professional growth.
Projects and System Change
- Sponsors and provides technical leadership for infrastructure projects from planning to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and business goals.
Security & Compliance
- Works with the Cyber Security team to identify and address potential security risks in the Lactalis Australia infrastructure, systems and processes under their control.
Incident & Problem Management
- Acts as the escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring quick resolution and thorough root cause analysis. Leads reviews after major incidents to drive improvements.
Budget, Vendor & Asset Management
- Manages vendor relationships, contracts, and services agreements.
- Maintains accurate records of infrastructure assets and looks for ways to reduce costs in order to contribute to budgeting and long-term planning.
Strategy & Innovation
- Provides input into ICT strategy by identifying trends and recommending new technologies that enhance performance, efficiency, or scalability.
**About you**:
- A strong foundation in IT infrastructure, with 7+ years of experience in systems administration, ideally supported by a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Equivalent industry experience is also acceptable.
- Technically, the role demands proficiency in managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems, particularly Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, and Red Hat Linux. Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), backup and disaster recovery (Veeam, Azure Site Recovery), and monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Splunk) is essential. Experience managing large Microsoft 365 and Azure environments would be advantageous, as would a solid grasp of infrastructure automation tools like Morpheus.
- Security and networking are highly desirable areas, with a working knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, SIEM tools, and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
