**What are we looking for?**
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture and working closely with the Finance department and the People & Culture team, the Senior Payroll Officer will be responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate end to end payroll for all employees of the business.

We are seeking the expertise of a confident and confidential payroll officer, that is highly organised, efficient and that can hit the ground running and take full control of the function. You will not only possess the knowledge to take full accountability of the payroll function, though have the ability to interpret awards and provide a high-quality customer experience to all team members of the business.

**What will you do?**
Supporting the Head of People & Culture they will ensure that all key projects and reporting is completed to a high standard and will utilse their strong technical skills to achieve accuracy and satisfaction through our systems Employment Hero, Deputy and KeyPay.
- Calculate Workcover payments and reconciliation as well as work cover Pre-Injury average Weekly earnings (PIAWE)
- Run the payroll process end to end on a weekly basis for two groups (casual and permanent) and fortnightly
- Resolve and respond to payroll enquiries in a timely and customer centric manner
- Maintain internal documents, folders and the Time & Attendance system (Deputy) and Payroll system (Employment Hero/Keypay) to ensure any updates are made correctly and on time and agency rates and archiving inactive accounts and checked.
- Process leave entitlements, bonuses, terminations, redundancies, expenses, quarterly superannuation and child support payments
- Support the process of, and at times, manage the annual Workcover declarations.
- Complete monthly reporting on Absenteeism, Labour Turnover and any other reporting
- Generate and execute employment contracts, ensuring on-boarding documentation is received and accurate and setting new employees up for success
- Support with key People & Culture projects
- Run the annual remuneration review process together with the Head of People & Culture
- Remain educated and up to date with relevant legislation and updates affecting the payroll, i,e public holidays etc.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian taxation, superannuation, and industrial relations laws, as well as adherence to awards and enterprise agreements
- This role will work closely with the Finance department and report any payroll budgetary considerations to Finance as required
- Lead or actively participate in any payroll system migrations or updates, ensuring smooth transitions and mínimal disruptions to payroll services
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with payroll operations, including legal, compliance, and operational risks, and work proactively to mitigate these risks
- STP lodgments after each pay has been processed

**What skills/Qualifications will you have?**
- Minimum 2 years in a similar role running and/or supporting a payroll function preferred
- Bachelor qualification and/or certificate in either Payroll, Business, Human Resources, Finance or Accounting Preferred but not essential
- Have a basic understanding of awards and industrial instruments
- Savvy with technology
- High attention to detail
