**About headspace**:
headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.

- Part-time (0.8 FTE), Permanent contract

**Role Overview**:
The Community Engagement Coordinator seeks opportunities to reach out to young people and the communities that support them, to provide health education, raise mental health literacy and community awareness and link people to appropriate services.

You will develop, facilitate and evaluate a range of community events, and health and education programs designed to improve mental health literacy and community awareness of challenges faced by young people, in order to increase early identification and help them to get early access to appropriate services.

You will work closely with our clinical team to understand the services that headspace provides, to advocate our services to both young people and the wider community.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Diploma qualification in youth work, mental health or other relevant discipline
- Experience in a similar role working with young people
- Experience in planning, developing and delivering of high-quality education, training, and community awareness programs and activities
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with and engage a variety of different people and stakeholders
- Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal communication and written skills, including the ability to identify potential funding sources and write the appropriate grant submissions
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
- Current Driver’s License
